Start off on a delightful, 4-day trip covering the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka along with the scenic beauty of the Southern part of the country.
With our tour ‘Cultural Triangle and Southern Wonders’, feel every splendid moment and Sri Lankan encounter with a perfect mix of ancient history and colorful traditions, scenic beauty, and exciting wildlife. On this journey, you will visit Pinnawala’s gentle giants, Sigiriya Rock, Kandy, lush tea estate, and Yala wildlife.
Day 1: Gentle Giants & Cultural Heartbeat (Kandy)
For your first adventure, you will heartwarmingly visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and watch their magnificent animals, even a magnificent bath they take in the river.
We then head over to the cultural capital of the island, Kandy, where you get to loosen up spiritually as well by visiting the sacred Temple Of The Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) preserving a revered Buddhist relic. Walk through the Peradeniya Botanical Garden to contemplate the extraordinary collection of plants within the beautifully arranged garden. Conclude the day by witnessing a marvel of Kandy dance, a traditional colorful performance.
Day 2: Ancient Treats and Cave Sanctuaries (Sigiriya and Dambulla)
Day two explores Sri Lanka in a new light. Hike up the breathtaking Sigiriya Rock Fortress (or enjoy the sweeping views from Pidurangala Rock nearby); it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site that displays unparalleled engineering and artistry of ancient civilizations.
Travel onward to Dambulla Cave Temple, another UNESCO World Heritage site, possessing the remarkable five cave temples that contain some of the most superb murals with countless Buddha statues which displays the history of art and religion for so many centuries. The day ends with a stay in Habarana, which is a geographically central hub for further travel.
Day 3: Highland Vistas and Colonial Elegance (Ella Region)
As we move towards Ella, feast your eyes on the spectacular highland beauty of Rawana Ella Waterfall, a location famous in folklore. Moving along, relish the beauty of the landscape at a Tea Estate and observe the tea-picking process as well as the production at a local Tea Factory. Don’t forget to grab a cup of Ceylon Tea with a view of Mother Nature’s true beauty.
Then, the breathtaking view of the Nine Arch Bridge will be waiting for you; a beautiful colonial railway bridge set in the hilly terrain is a great place to take stunning pictures.
Day 4: Farewell and Wildlife Wonders (Yala National Park)
Get ready for an early start as we head off to the famous Yala National Park for an exciting safari. The park is well known for its astounding collection of wildlife such as leopards, elephants, sloth bears, deer, and many species of birds.
As you embark on your journey home, you will carry with you unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka’s vibrant culture, breathtaking landscapes, and astonishing wildlife encounters.
